Deputy Director of China International Communications Group Visits SISU

On the afternoon of May 12, a delegation led by Yu Yunquan, Deputy Director of China International Communications Group (CICG), visited Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) . SISU Party Secretary Zou Yu and Vice Presidents Lu Bo and Yan Gongjun received the delegation.

 

During the visit, the delegation toured SISU’s Institute of Contemporary China Studies, Institute for Area and International Studies, and the Western China Laboratory for International Communication and Civilizational Exchange. At the two research institutes, the delegation gained insights into SISU’s academic output, talent training efforts, think tank services, and international collaboration projects. At the laboratory, they were briefed on the university’s innovative use of modern technologies to build international communication platforms, explore new modes of communication, and foster intercultural dialogue.

 

Yu Yunquan praised the university’s forward-looking approach and solid work in enhancing international communication capabilities at an in-depth discussions with faculty and staff on how to further leverage the strengths of SISU’s foreign language programs to strengthen China’s international communication efforts. He emphasized the significance of area and international studies in promoting mutual understanding among nations and facilitating dialogue between civilizations. He also spoke highly of SISU’s continued investment and progress in this field, and expressed hope that the university will continue to contribute its expertise and wisdom to the course of promoting cross cultural understanding.

 

Yu and his delegation also toured the SISU History Museum, where they learned about the university’s 75-year journey, educational philosophy, key achievements, and stories of distinguished alumni.
