SISU Mini Marathon Kicks Off to Celebrate 75th Anniversary

2025-05-16

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Sichuan International Studies University (SISU), a campus mini marathon themed “Celebrating 75 Years, Running Toward the Future” was held on the morning of May 11. The event was jointly organized by the University Youth League Committee, the Faculty Union, and the Department of Physical Education.

As one of the highlights of the anniversary celebrations, the mini marathon featured a specially designed route called the “SISU Memory Corridor.” Participants ran past iconic campus landmarks such as Sanhua Road, Peiying Building, and the Grand Auditorium. Along the way, themed flags showcasing key milestones in the university’s 75-year history vividly brought to life SISU’s legacy of educational excellence.

SISU Party Secretary Zou Yu, President Dong Hongchuan, and Vice Presidents Lu Bo and Yan Gongjun also took part in the event. At the sound of the starting whistle, they led the runners from Moonlight Plaza in front of Bowen Building down winding campus roads, making their way from the East Campus to the finish line near the West Campus sports field.

Around 600 participants—including faculty, students, alumni, and their families—joined the race. With high spirits and great enthusiasm, they raced forward as cheering spectators lined the route, applauding and offering encouragement. When the first runners crossed the finish line, the crowd erupted in applause and cheers.

This mini marathon served as a vibrant and energetic highlight in the series of events commemorating SISU’s 75th anniversary, bringing a lively atmosphere to the campus.
