Delegation from Hainan Province Communications and Investment Holding Co., Ltd. Visits SISU

On October 16, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) welcomed a delegation from Hainan Province Communications and Investment Holding Co., Ltd. to explore opportunities for university–industry collaboration. The delegation was led by Wu Peng, Deputy General Manager of the company. Liu Sifang, Secretary of the CPC SISU Committee, met with the group, and Vice President Hu Anjiang presided over the meeting.

 

Secretary Liu welcomed the visitors and highlighted the shared mission between SISU and Hainan Province Communications and Investment Holding Co., Ltd. in supporting the Belt and Road Initiative and promoting high-level opening-up. Wu Peng conveyed greetings from Chen Taifeng, the company’s Party Secretary and Chairman, and said the visit aims to strengthen ties and lay the groundwork for comprehensive strategic cooperation.

 

Vice President Hu outlined SISU’s history, academic strengths, and achievements in international education. He said SISU is committed to serving national strategies and regional development and views university–enterprise cooperation as a key driver of innovation. He expressed optimism about expanding collaboration with Hainan Province Communications and Investment Holding Co., Ltd. to better connect education, research, and industry and to cultivate globally minded professionals who can meet emerging economic needs.

 

Wu described the company’s development and strategy, noting its central role in building and operating Hainan’s transportation infrastructure. He said the company is expanding into smart transportation, logistics, “transportation+” industrial investment, and international partnerships. He emphasized the company’s need for multilingual, cross-culturally competent professionals and expressed interest in working with SISU on talent development, research, and international engagement to support the Hainan Free Trade Port and the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.

 

During the exchange, participants explored topics such as “Foreign Languages + Transportation” interdisciplinary training, corporate language services, enterprise universities, and industry partnerships. Both sides agreed to establish long-term mechanisms for collaboration through joint internship programs, co-research projects, and customized training to strengthen the integration of education, talent, and industry development.

 

Representatives from the company’s Human Resources, Science and Technology Innovation, and Investment and Operations departments, along with the Hainan Island Road Investment and Development Co., Ltd., attended the meeting. SISU faculty and staff from relevant departments also joined the discussion.
