2026-04-08

Two SISU projects have been selected for a Ministry of Education program highlighting exemplary work in digital arts education resources and AI-enabled arts teaching.

The selected projects are “Photography Technology and Practice,” developed by Yang Chengjie and Ruan Miaomiao of the School of Journalism and Communication (Chongqing International Communication College), and “AI-Driven Renewal of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Arts Education: Innovative Practice at SISU’s School of Language Intelligence,” developed by Wang Meng of the School of Language Intelligence (College of General Education).

One centers on the development of digital resources for photography instruction. The other explores how AI can support the teaching and learning of intangible cultural heritage.

Taken together, the two projects show how faculty across different disciplines are using digital tools to expand arts education at SISU.

The program was hosted by the Ministry of Education’s Center for Educational Technology and Resources Development, also known as the Central Institute for Educational Technology. It focuses on the arts education section of China's National Smart Education Platform and offers examples of innovative use of technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual simulation in teaching arts.

The recognition reflects SISU's ongoing work in digital arts education and gives the university the momentumn needed to deepen its innovative  teaching practices across campus in the age of AI technology.
