Yan welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the ministry’s long-standing support for the university. He outlined SISU’s history, its approach to talent development, and its current graduate employment trends. He noted that SISU, one of the first four foreign language institutions established after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, has continued to expand interdisciplinary education through programs that combine foreign languages with other fields.

He also highlighted the university's broadened international engagement. The university has launched partnership programs with more than 140 universities and institutions in over 30 countries and regions. In recent years, SISU has also built partnerships with companies including Huawei, Changan, BYD, Alibaba, and Xiaomi. Yan said the university hopes to deepen cooperation with the ministry by better aligning its talent development with the ministry's hiring needs and creating more opportunities for internships, practical training.

The officials introduced the ministry’s current hiring needs. The ministry is looking for graduates with strong professional skills, international outlook, and solid foreign-language skills, especially those familiar with international trade rules and cross-border business. They also outlined this year’s recruitment priority for affiliated public-service institutions and expressed their interest in establishing a more regular channel of cooperation with SISU in areas such as recruitment and internship.
