Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) and Australia's University of Newcastle discussed plans to strengthen their joint undergraduate Business English program at the 2026 Joint Management Committee meeting on October 12.

The University of Newcastle delegation was led by Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global) Aleksandr Voninski. SISU Deputy Party Secretary Gou Chaoli welcomed the delegation and highlighted the achievements of the program over more than a decade of cooperation. She expressed hope that both universities would build on their partnership to further improve the program.

During the meeting, the committee approved its new membership and reached agreements on renewing the cooperation agreement and applying for an extension of the program's approval. The two partners also discussed teaching quality assurance for visiting faculty, curriculum development and research collaboration, outlining priorities and timelines for the next phase of cooperation.
