SISU Reviews Graduate Career Support Work and Sets Priorities for 2026

Sichuan International Studies University held a meeting in Conference Room A609 of Lide Building on March 31 to review graduate career support work for the Class of 2025 and set priorities for admissions and career support work in 2026.  


University leaders, heads of relevant offices, deans from the university’s schools and colleges,  and counselors for the 2025 and 2026 graduating classes attended the meeting.


At the meeting, which was presided over by Vice President Yan Gongjun, President Dong Hongchuan noted that universities specializing in foreign languages and the humanities must respond more actively to a changing job market and the rapid rise of artificial intelligence. Continued reform in talent development, including reform of language training, cross-cultural competence are needed. The integration of AI techonology into teaching and learning is essential for strengthenning students’ digital literacy, communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving ability. More importantly, the university need build a more coherent pathway linking internships, final-year preparation, and employment. Greater efforts must be made to improve practical guidance and provide stronger support for students facing an increasingly harsh job market.

 

Shen Angui, director of the Office of Admissions and Career Services, reviewed the university's graduate employment work over the past year, outlining both the progress made and the challenges that remain, and presented priorities for the year ahead. Li Shuang, a counselor from the College of International Education, and Ni Jing, deputy Party secretary of the School of English Studies, shared their understanding of graduate emplyment work from their respective units.


Participants also watched a video featuring employer feedback on SISU graduates and the university’s talent development.

 

Yan, in his closing remark, said that admissions, education, and employment should be approached as parts of one connected process. He called on the university’s schools and colleges to improve their practices of student career guidance and support .

 

At the meeting, a recogninition ceremony was also held to commend the colleges and schools for their outstanding career support work.
