2025-04-24

Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) hosted a delegation from BYD’s Human Resources Department on April 23, led by Luo Xue, Recruitment Management Manager for the Central China Region, to strengthen collaboration in talent development.

Vice President Yan Gongjun and Shen Angui, Director of SISU’s Admissions and Employment Office of SISU received the delegation.

In their discussion, Shen Angui highlighted the strong partnership between SISU and BYD, noting, “Over the past three years, BYD has recruited more than 80 SISU graduates, establishing itself as a top employer for our students. This visit opens new avenues to deepen our collaboration and ensure graduates are equipped for industry success.”

Luo Xue praised the contributions of SISU graduates to BYD’s global strategy. “Their exceptional language skills, international perspectives, and cultural adaptability are critical to our growth,” she said, expressing BYD’s commitment to expanding joint efforts in internships, hiring, and talent cultivation.

Yang Jie, BYD’s Senior School-Enterprise Specialist for Central China, introduced BYD initiatives like BYD Open Days and Campus Ambassador programs, which provide students with direct industry exposure and opportunities to build professional skills, fostering a smooth transition from academia to the workforce.

The discussion centered on BYD’s University Scholarship Program, launched in December 2024 with a 3 billion Yuan education fund to support outstanding students at over 100 universities, including SISU. By supporting academic excellence and cultivating talent for the new energy vehicle industry, the program strengthens the strategic partnership between BYD and SISU, fostering innovative collaboration in talent development.

Vice President Yan Gongjun underscored the potential of this collaboration. “By integrating BYD’s industry expertise with SISU’s academic strengths, we can design customized programs that prepare students with cutting-edge skills,” he said. He proposed an “education-to-employment” framework to align curricula with industry demands, ensuring graduates are career-ready while supporting BYD’s talent needs.

The visit marks a significant step in SISU and BYD’s shared mission to innovate talent development, strengthen the bridge between higher education and industry, and create new opportunities for students in the global clean energy sector.
