SISU Welcomes 35 International Students from 9 Countries

This spring semester, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) proudly welcomed 35 new international students from nine countries, including Italy, France, Brazil, and Thailand, marking a vibrant start to the academic year.

To ensure a smooth transition for these newcomers, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange in collaboration with the College of International Education and the Division of Logistics and Infrastructure launched an innovative"Welcome Service Package.” This initiative included partnering with China Unicom — one of the communication service providers in China — to set up an on-site communication service station, enabling seamless cross-border connectivity for the students. Volunteers were also mobilized to assist the international students in efficiently openning a Chinese bank card while a dedicated task force — formed by the College of International Education and the Logistics Division — worked to ensure the students have access to comfortable accommodations.

As a highland of foreign language education in Southwest China, SISU continues to leverage its strengths in "Foreign Language Plus”programs for interdisciplinary talent development, fostering an internationalized educational ecosystem where diverse cultures deeply intertwine.

Among the newcomers are “beginners” experiencing Chinese culture in person for the first time, as well as “advanced learners” who have studied the language systematically at their home countries and now seek a deeper connection with China.
