Vice Party Secretary Gou Chaoli Leads Delegation to UABC Mexico

To deepen exchanges and cooperation with higher education institutions in Mexico, Vice Party Secretary of Sichuan International Studies University (SISU), Gou Chaoli, led a delegation to Mexico from November 25 to 29, 2024. The main purpose of this visit was to advance the joint construction of a Confucius Institute with the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) and strengthen inter-school cooperation. The delegation included leaders from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges and the School of Chinese Language and Culture.

The SISU delegation visited UABC's Tijuana and Mexicali campuses, where they held discussions with the university's president, vice presidents of the Tijuana and Mexicali campuses, the head of the Office of Academic Cooperation and Educational Liaison, the dean of the School of Management, the dean of the School of Accounting and Management, the research team of the China-Baja California Research Center, and Mexican students studying Chinese. The delegation also conducted a site inspection of the proposed Confucius Institute office space. The Consul General of China in Tijuana, Yu Yue, attended all related activities and led a visit to the Chinese Association to further understand the local demand for Chinese language education.
