Sea of Pink Blooms at Foot of Zhongliang Mountain in Jiulongpo

2026-10-20

As autumn deepens, Longmen Park in Jiulongpo District has turned a delicate shade of pink. About 4,700 square meters of pink muhly grass are now in full bloom, creating a dreamy, cloudlike landscape at the foot of Zhongliang Mountain.

Inside the park, swathes of pink muhly grass stretch across the slopes beneath an artificial rockery and spill toward the walking paths. Their feathery plumes sway gently in the breeze, sending ripples of pink across the landscape. From a distance, the grass resembles a soft pink veil draped over the ground. Visitors stroll along the paths, taking photos and videos to capture the beauty of autumn.

Completed in 2023, Longmen Park is a sponge park designed to absorb and manage rainwater. In addition to the pink muhly grass, the park features about 800 square meters of Mexican petunias, 1,100 square meters of salvia, and other purple-flowering plants, including verbena, creating a colorful, layered landscape.

Behind the rockery stands a vintage green passenger train, another popular spot for photographs.

The park is also home to a landscaped rockery known as A Hundred Li of Green Mountains of Zhongliang, inspired by the famous Northern Song Dynasty painting A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains. Featuring a blue-green color scheme, the rockery has boardwalks that visitors can climb, along with relief sculptures and stone carvings.

With the pink muhly grass now at its peak, Longmen Park offers an ideal destination for visitors looking to enjoy Chongqing's autumn scenery on a sunny day.
