SISU Steps Up Career Support for Class of 2027

2026-10-12

With the fall recruitment season underway, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) is working to help its Class of 2027 navigate the job market and take advantage of emerging career opportunities. At a September 23 meeting, university leaders called for stronger career guidance, closer coordination between academic and recruitment schedules, and greater efforts to connect students with potential employers.

SISU President Zhu Chaowei attended the meeting, chaired by Vice President Yan Gongjun. Shen Angui, Director of the Admissions and Employment Office, provided an update on the university’s recent employment initiatives, while Deputy Director Yang Si briefed attendees on employment policy training guidelines issued by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission.

Yan emphasized the importance of helping students understand the job market and prepare for employment early. He called on colleges to organize both online and in-person information sessions, encouraging students to approach career planning with an open mind and make full use of campus job fairs and recruitment events during the fall hiring season.

He also urged university departments to work more closely together, particularly in coordinating classes, internships, and recruitment activities. Such efforts, he noted, would give students greater flexibility to pursue job opportunities without disrupting their academic commitments.

Addressing the broader employment outlook, Zhu highlighted new opportunities arising from China’s growing international engagement and the overseas expansion of Chinese businesses. He encouraged colleges to respond proactively to changing labor market demands and make the most of the fall recruitment season to help students secure suitable employment.

Zhu also called for continued efforts to expand campus recruitment, strengthen employment policy training, and bring together resources across the university to better support graduating students.

College leaders, deputy Party secretaries responsible for student affairs, counselors for the Class of 2027, and staff from the Admissions and Employment Office attended the meeting.
