Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) hosted Chongqing’s third annual e-commerce campus career fair and a forum on university–industry collaboration on September 23, bringing together employers, educators, and students to explore career opportunities and new approaches to talent development.

Held at Hongwen Building, the career fair featured more than 40 companies offering over 1,000 internship and full-time positions in e-commerce, cross-border trade, digital marketing, and supply chain management. Nearly 1,000 students from around 20 universities across Chongqing attended the event.

The event was organized by the Chongqing E-Commerce Association, with guidance from the Chongqing Municipal Economic and Information Technology Commission and the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce. SISU’s School of International Business Administration and the Chongqing Multilingual Cross-Border E-Commerce Industry College coordinated the event.

At the forum, SISU President Zhu Chaowei emphasized the growing importance of skilled professionals to Chongqing’s development as a hub for inland trade and international commerce. He called for closer cooperation between universities and businesses, encouraging them to jointly develop academic programs, share expertise, and create more opportunities for students to gain practical experience.

Wang Hanbing, President of the Chongqing E-Commerce Association, expressed the association's commitment to bringing together government agencies, universities, and businesses to support talent development in the city's growing e-commerce sector.

Dai Bin, Dean of SISU’s School of International Business Administration, outlined the school’s plans to build on its existing academic and industry partnerships. Drawing on its strengths in multilingual education and cross-border e-commerce, the school aims to develop programs that respond more closely to industry needs and prepare students for careers in an increasingly digital and interconnected economy.

University and industry representatives also exchanged ideas on jointly developing curricula, establishing practical training facilities, and organizing competitions that connect classroom learning with real-world business challenges.

By combining recruitment opportunities with discussions on educational reform, the event reflected SISU's efforts to connect its multilingual strengths with the needs of local industries while contributing to Chongqing's broader economic development.
