On March 28th, the vibrant "City of Music, Hand in Hand with the World" 2025 China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week International Youth Spring Music Festival blossomed amidst the breathtaking cherry blossoms of Gui'an New District, Guizhou.
Marking the 18th year of the China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week, this festival, a collaborative effort by several Guizhou universities, featured SISU's international students alongside their ASEAN peers. Together, they wove a beautiful tapestry of cultural exchange, using music as their universal language.
Nguyen Thi Thuy Hien, a Vietnamese student from the School of Chinese Language and Culture, captivated the audience with her flawless Chinese hosting, embodying SISU's commitment to "enlightening through language and enriching through culture." Her duet of "Huaxia" with a Guizhou Open University student, accompanied by martial arts from Guizhou Normal University students, demonstrated a unique blend of local dialects and modern trends, celebrating both cultural diversity and the wisdom of harmonious exchange. This cross-cultural artistic dialogue transformed differences into bridges of friendship.
Thai students Yan Ningyu and Chen Lin'er, from the School of Chinese Language and Culture, joined their Thai counterparts from Guizhou Light Industry Vocational College to perform the lively Thai song "Want to Sing Loudly." The audience joined in the cheerful "Da La La La..." chorus, highlighting the harmonious connection between Chinese and Thai cultures and deepening the students' appreciation for multiculturalism.
Vietnamese students Nguyen Thi Tra Mi, Wu Thi Mai Anh, and Ngo Thu Trang collaborated with young people from ten southwestern universities, singing in multiple languages to express the sentiment, "True friends are never far apart, even across vast distances."
The international students also enjoyed a cultural immersion at the Guizhou Normal University Museum.
