China–Thailand International Business Summer School Held at SISU

2026-10-12

Twenty students from Chiang Mai Rajabhat University in Thailand joined a two-week international business summer school at Sichuan International Studies University (SISU), exploring digital commerce, Chinese culture and cross-cultural communication through a combination of classroom learning, industry visits and cultural activities.

Organized by SISU's School of International Finance and Trade, the 2026 China–Thailand “Digital Intelligence Silk Road” International Business Summer School opened on September 2 as part of the university's efforts to strengthen educational cooperation with Thailand and promote international exchanges under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The program offered courses covering international business etiquette, the digital economy, international marketing, exchange rates, cross-border investment and intercultural communication. Through case studies and discussions, participants gained insights into international business practices and emerging trends in digital commerce. Chinese language classes also helped students develop communication skills for business and everyday interactions.

Beyond the classroom, students visited a cross-border industrial park to learn about the development of international trade and toured the SISU History Gallery to explore the university's history. Excursions to Chongqing landmarks, including Ciqikou Ancient Town, Jiefangbei and Hongyadong, introduced participants to the city's history, culture and urban development.

Cultural workshops provided opportunities to experience traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy and cuisine, while recreational sports activities encouraged interaction among participants. Two student exchange sessions brought together Thai participants and SISU students majoring in international business and Thai language to share academic experiences, discuss cultural differences and build friendships.

The program concluded on September 14 with group project presentations and a closing ceremony at Gele Academy. Participants presented their work, reflecting on the knowledge and experiences gained throughout the program.

The summer school provided a platform for academic and cultural exchange between Chinese and Thai students while strengthening cooperation between the two universities. Building on the program, the School of International Finance and Trade plans to expand international learning opportunities and encourage further collaboration in business education and cross-cultural exchange.
