SISU, Hainan Transport Investment Group Explore Deeper Partnership

Sichuan International Studies University welcomed a delegation from Hainan Province Transport Investment Holding Co., Ltd. on March 16 for talks on expanding cooperation in talent development, language services, international projects, and overseas business development.

 

Liu Sifang, Party secretary of the university, met with Wu Peng, a member of the company’s Party committee and deputy general manager, and his colleagues. Yan Gongjun, a member of the university Party Standing Committee and vice president, joined the meeting and chaired the discussion session.

 

Liu said the partnership has already produced early results since the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Building on that foundation, he said, the university and the company should deepen collaboration in industry-education integration, collaborative innovation, internships and practical training, and international business development, with the goal of producing distinctive, high-impact results.

 

He also pointed to the complementarity between SISU’s strengths in foreign languages and interdisciplinary education and the company’s industrial and geographic advantages. With a shared focus on high-level opening up, he said, the two sides are well positioned to develop new areas of cooperation in  economic development, logistics corridor building, integrated services, and cross-border e-commerce, while contributing to the  development of Chongqing as an inland hub for opening up and to the development of Hainan as a Free Trade Port .

 

Wu outlined the company’s strategic priorities in areas including integrated transportation and the low-altitude economy. He said the company has a pressing need for internationally minded professionals with cross-disciplinary expertise and expressed interest in drawing on SISU’s multilingual strengths to support cooperation in talent development, language services, consulting for international projects, and overseas business expansion.

 

University representatives highlighted SISU’s strengths in areas such as international training, international finance, and branding and communication, identifying clear opportunities for collaboration in employee training, degree advancement, and other forms of professional development.

 

Both sides agreed on the value of a stronger coordination mechanism between the university and the company. Possible next steps discussed at the meeting included internship and practicum bases, joint research projects, and customized training programs designed to better tie education, talent development to industry needs.
