A training program designed to strengthen international tax expertise among tax officials in Chongqing concluded at Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) on July 3.

Organized by the Chongqing Municipal Tax Service, State Taxation Administration, and hosted by SISU’s School of International Education (Office of Overseas Training), the program was designed to meet the practical needs of tax officials involved in services related to the Western Land-Sea New Corridor. It featured training in international tax practices, tax-related English, and cross-border tax services, combining professional knowledge with language skills.

The closing ceremony was attended by Zhang Beiping, member of the Standing Committee of the SISU Party Committee and vice president of the university, and Zhang Xuesong, member of the Party Committee and deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Tax Service, State Taxation Administration.

During the ceremony, participants delivered English presentations on topics related to international taxation. Through professional analysis and clear communication, they demonstrated the knowledge and practical skills gained during the program.

Zhang Beiping congratulated the participants on completing the training and expressed appreciation for the support of the Chongqing Municipal Tax Service. He noted that SISU, drawing on its national-level foreign language training platform, has long been committed to preparing professionals with international expertise. The program represents a new step in cooperation between the university and the tax authorities to support regional development.

He added that SISU will continue to improve its international tax-related curriculum, build long-term platforms for professional exchange, and deepen cooperation with the tax sector. He encouraged participants to apply their knowledge in their professional work and further enhance their ability to provide cross-border tax services.

Zhang Xuesong recognized SISU’s teaching quality and encouraged participants to integrate their language abilities with international tax expertise. He called on them to keep pace with global tax developments, contribute to the “Tax Road Link” initiative, and apply their professional knowledge to supporting economic cooperation and development along the Western Land-Sea New Corridor.

Combining theoretical instruction with practical training, the program included case studies, group discussions, and project presentations. Moving forward, SISU will continue to leverage its strengths in international education and deepen cooperation with the tax sector to cultivate professionals with both foreign language proficiency and expertise in international taxation.
