The SISU line dance team earned standout results at the 19th National Collegiate Health and Vitality Competition, hosted by the Federation of University Sports of China. In its debut at the event, the team took home 10 major awards and secured first place in the Group A division with the highest overall score of the entire competition.

Held in Pucheng County, Nanping, Fujian Province, the event brought together 955 competitors from 68 universities nationwide. SISU’s team delivered a strong all-around performance, winning first place in the Group A overall score, the medley event, the self-selected large group, and the self-selected small group, along with third place in the self-choreographed category. The team also received the Best Team Award, Best Choreography Award, and the Sportsmanship Award. In the individual division, team members Cao Kerui and Li Xinyuan won first place in the men’s and women’s solo events, respectively, earning the team a highlight finish of “five golds and one bronze.”

The team’s performance was grounded in months of focused, disciplined training. Guided by their coaches, members practiced daily to refine technique, tighten formations, build strength, and polish the overall presentation. Their commitment to steady, methodical work—often during hours most students reserve for rest—proved essential to delivering a confident, cohesive performance on competition day.

The achievement also reflects SISU’s strong institutional support. Guided by the university’s philosophy of integrating the “five educations,” SISU provided dedicated resources, training facilities, and logistical support for the dance program. The result marks not only an outstanding first showing at a ministry-level competition, but also a vivid example of SISU’s growing strength in integrating sports and aesthetic education.
