All-China Journalists Association Delegation Visits SISU

A delegation from the All-China Journalists Association visited Sichuan International Studies University on December 9 for a meeting focused on exchange and engagement on international communication and talent development.

 

The delegation was led by Wu Xu, Member of the CPC Committee and Secretary of the Secretariat of the All-China Journalists Association. She was joined at the meeting by Liu Sifang, Party Secretary of Sichuan International Studies University; Zhang Qiong, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee and Director of the Chongqing Municipal Government Information Office; Kan Jingxia, Deputy District Mayor of Shapingba District; and university Vice Presidents Wang Renqiang and Yan Gongjun.

 

During the meeting, Wang Renqiang outlined the university’s 75-year history and the development of its academic disciplines, while Yan Gongjun introduced the institution’s recent initiatives in international communication. Wu Xu provided an overview of the Association’s institutional development, functional positioning, and its coordination of journalist organizations along the Belt and Road, highlighting its role in supporting China’s high-level opening-up and the strengthening of international communication capacity.

 

Wu noted that Sichuan International Studies University, with its strong foreign-language tradition and distinctive academic profile, serves as an important base for cultivating international communication professionals. She encouraged the university to further leverage its strengths in area and country studies and communication-related disciplines, deepen cooperation with the Association, and jointly build platforms for resource sharing, think-tank development, and international communication.

 

Zhang Qiong highlighted the outcomes of recent collaborative initiatives between the Chongqing Publicity Department and the university, noting the institution’s contributions to the international dissemination of the Party’s innovative theories, policy-oriented advisory services aligned with national strategic priorities. She added that future cooperation would focus on international student innovation programs, expanding the influence of the Chongqing Youth Film Festival, and consolidating international communication resources.

 

In his remarks, Liu Sifang expressed appreciation for the continued support from the All-China Journalists Association, the Chongqing Publicity Department, and Shapingba District. He reaffirmed the university’s mission to serve major national strategies by drawing on its strengths in multilingual education and area studies, and emphasized ongoing efforts to refine international communication training and expand cooperation with Belt and Road partner institutions.


Representatives from the university’s Publicity Department, School of International Relations, School of Journalism and Communication, College of General Education, and School of Russian Studies also participated in the discussion.
