2026-10-10

Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) Vice President Wang Renqiang led a delegation to the headquarters of iFLYTEK, a Chinese artificial intelligence company, on September 29 to explore opportunities for collaboration in AI-powered language research and education.

The delegation met with iFLYTEK Vice President Wang Zhanglong to discuss how the company’s AI technologies could complement SISU's expertise in language education and research.

Wang Renqiang introduced SISU’s academic strengths and research achievements, highlighting the university’s “Quantum Dictionary,” an intelligent dictionary compilation system, and its development of Chinese-to-foreign-language dictionaries. He expressed hope that the two sides could work together to upgrade the system and develop advanced multimedia dictionary products, drawing on iFLYTEK's AI technologies and SISU’s expertise in international Chinese language education.

Wang Zhanglong shared the company’s latest advances in natural language processing and multilingual technologies, particularly those powered by its Spark large language model. He proposed establishing a long-term partnership that would combine SISU’s expertise in language and culture with Iflytek’s technological capabilities, helping bring academic research into practical use.

The delegation also toured iFLYTEK's exhibition center, where they explored applications of speech recognition technology and the Spark large language model. They also learned how these technologies are being used in education, healthcare, and other fields.

The visit opened up opportunities for closer cooperation between SISU and iFLYTEK, particularly in the development of AI-powered language resources. It also reflected SISU’s broader efforts to integrate AI into higher education, advance digital transformation, and strengthen interdisciplinary teaching and research.

Representatives from SISU's Office of Academic Affairs, Network Information Center, School of Language Intelligence, and School of International Business Administration also joined the visit.
