Deputy Consul General of Germany in Chengdu, Julian, Visits SISU

On the afternoon of October 15, Julian, the Deputy Consul General of Germany in Chengdu, along with his delegation, visited Sichuan International Studies University (SISU). Gou Chaoli, the Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, warmly received the visitors in Room A401 of the Lide Building, accompanied by officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the College of German Studies.

During the meeting, Gou Chaoli extended a warm welcome to Julian and his team. She provided an overview of SISU's history and distinctive strengths, emphasizing its achievements in international cooperation, especially with German institutions. She expressed hope that the visit would further strengthen educational and cultural exchanges between SISU and German universities, welcoming more German students to study at SISU. Deputy Consul General Julian commended SISU’s College of German Studies for its accomplishments in talent cultivation and international outreach. He expressed interest in deepening cooperation with SISU and suggested organizing language competitions and cultural events at the university’s Center for Goethe Studies.

Following the meeting, Julian and his delegation engaged in a friendly discussion with faculty and students from the College of German Studies. The dialogue focused on topics such as the development of the German Studies program, the impact of AI technology on translation, and student internship and employment prospects.
