SISU Professor Joins Seminar on China-Pakistan Online International Education

Professor Zhou Wende, dean of the College of Chinese Language and Culture, SISU, delivered a keynote speech at the seminar themed on China-Pakistan online international education and the integration of college education with industry training , which was held in Beijing International Convention Center on February 17, 2023. Xue Hong, party secretary of the CCLC, SISU, also attended the seminar.

The seminar discussed three topics: “China-Pakistan Educational Cooperation in the Context of a Digital World”, ““Deepen the Inter-Collegiate Cooperation between China and Pakistan to promote ‘Chinese Language + Vocational Skills’ Program” and “Promoting integration of college education with industry training to facilitate the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor”.

Dean Zhou Wende shared his insightful perspectives on digital education and talent development models. He observes that in today's context of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the "China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, "there is a growing emphasis on integrating digital education with industry-education partnerships. By establishing a framework that combines"artificial intelligence + discipline clusters," we can achieve aseamless integration of humanities and technology, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and inter-disciplinary exchanges. This approach can effectivelymeet the diverse and specialized needs of different regions and industries.

The friendship between China and Pakistan is a long standing and enduring one that transcends time and circumstance. In the realm of education, the collaboration between these two countries is both vast and profound. Currently, there are over 28,000 Pakistani students enrolled in Chinese universities, and a growing number of Chinese students are pursuing their studies in Pakistani institutions. As the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor enters a new stage, vocational education and technical training in fields such as the internet, robotics, and artificial intelligence become increasingly crucial.
