2024-06-11

On May 31st, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) held its third Leadership Reception Day of the Spring 2024 semester at the Student Home in Songyuan 9 Residence, West Campus. Vice President Zhang Beiping, along with key administrative and academic leaders, met with student representatives to address their concerns and ideas.

During the event, students raised several issues:

“Sometimes the SISU Card doesn't work.”

“How is the water quality of the school's swimming pool maintained?”

“Sometimes the security office's phone line is unreachable.”

Representatives from various departments provided direct responses. The Network Information Center recommended that students bring their physical cards to self-service machines in the Smart Campus Service Hall or the first-floor lobby of Hongwen Building for card correction. The Sports Department explained that the swimming pool's water quality is ensured by a modern circulation system operating from 7 AM to 11 PM daily, meeting national safety standards. The Security Office provided a 24-hour contact number, which was successfully tested on-site. Departments shared their contact information and encouraged students to reach out promptly with any issues.

Additionally, student representatives engaged in lively discussions on topics such as the Second Classroom system, student activities, and campus logistics.

Vice President Zhang Beiping emphasized the importance of student feedback, assuring that the university takes their concerns seriously. He urged departments to address solvable issues promptly and to provide clear explanations for those requiring more time. Zhang encouraged students to view challenges comprehensively and critically, to raise concerns judiciously, and to avoid following trends blindly. He affirmed the university's commitment to creating a supportive and scholarly environment. Finally, he highlighted the importance of collaboration between students and the university to elevate SISU's operations to new heights.
