SISU Launches International Training Program in Chinese Language Teaching

SISU has officially launched its “Belt and Road” countries Chinese teacher development program with an online opening ceremony on October 17, 2022.

Wang Renqiang, vice president of SISU, attended the online ceremony and expressed his hearty congratulations on the opening of the program. He said that further development of international Chinese education as a discipline requires the joint efforts of all the parties concerned. He calls for the supervisors to offer tailored assistance and guide for their students.

Zhou Wende, dean of College of Chinese Language and Culture, SISU, gave an overview of program. He said that the program is a master program aiming at providing international students from the countries along the Belt and Road Initiative enhanced training in Chinese language and culture education. Professor Zhou believes that the program will help students improve their language proficiency and build SISU’s reputation as a Chinese language teacher training institution of higher learning.

Zhu Hong, vice director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and Zhao Yongfeng, dean of Graduate School, introduced the relevant regulatory and academic requirements for the program respectively.

Pan Dawei, an international student speaking on behalf of the Class of 2022, expressed his appreciation for the program. He said that he can now speak Chinese quite fluently after attending a Chinese training program in SISU. Duan Wenhua, who speaks on behalf of supervisors for master’s program, said that he was looking forward meeting his students and helping them to study.

Leaders from University of Lomé in Togo, and Linguistic University of Nizhny Novgorod(UNN) in Russia also attended the online convocation.
