SISU Students Participating in Global Competence Training Program

 

Three SISU students participated in the "New Youth Global Competence Training Program" hosted by China Education Association for International Exchangeand the UN agencies in China. All the 40 participants of the program are the outstanding students of the New Youth Global Competence Training Class.

 

The three SISU students are Liu Shiyang from the School of Journalism and Communication, Wu Ziyu from the School of International Relations, and Wu Shirui from the School of International Relations.

 

During the 7-day event, the three trainees from SISU, together with the other participants visited many UN agencies in China, including UNICEF China Office, UNDP China Representative Office, UN Population Fund China Representative Office, and UNAIDS China Representative Office , UNHCR Representative Office in China.

 

The trainees also attended lectures given by experts from the United Nations Development System Coordinator's Office in China, the United Nations Youth Theme Group, the National Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation Center, and the National Women and Children's Health Center talking on sustainable development cooperation , the United Nations Volunteers Projects,China's youth development and mental health.

 

Representatives from the UNICEF Youth Working Group and representatives from several UN agencies in China shared their career experiences with the trainees and offered advice for career development.

 

The participants also went to Changyu Afeibao Winery to learn about red wine tasting, reception etiquette at foreign exchange occasions and arts appreciation.

 

David G. Evans, Distinguished Professor of Beijing University of Chemical Technology discussed the unique charm of intercultural communication.

 

The three SISU students were highly recognized for their outstanding performance during the event.
