On June 6, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Chongqing Committee signed a strategic cooperation agreement during a ceremony held at SISU’s library.

The event was attended by SISU President Dong Hongchuan, Deputy Party Secretary Gou Chaoli, CCPIT Chongqing President and Vice Chair of the Chongqing Committee of the China Zhi Gong Party Deng Lin, Vice Presidents Zhang Haiqing and Yang Xuchao, and Secretary General Yu Guangjian.

President Dong extended a warm welcome to President Deng and her delegation, expressing appreciation for CCPIT Chongqing’s long-standing support in providing valuable internship and practical training opportunities for SISU students. He emphasized the university’s distinctive strengths in foreign language and literature disciplines and its evolving multidisciplinary framework that includes fields such as economics and literature. Dong noted that this partnership marks an important opportunity to deepen the reform of SISU’s “Foreign Language Plus” talent cultivation model, promote closer integration of academia and industry, and contribute to Chongqing’s efforts to build itself into an inland hub of openness.

President Deng highlighted CCPIT Chongqing’s role as a key conduit between the municipal government and the business community, serving as a bridge for domestic and international economic and trade cooperation. She described the partnership with SISU as a concrete step in advancing national strategies through coordinated efforts and pledged to leverage CCPIT’s industry resources to provide practical platforms and intellectual support. This, she said, will help SISU cultivate a new generation of globally minded, high-caliber professionals.

Representatives from relevant departments of both institutions also attended the signing ceremony.
