SISU Launches International School of Digital Economy and Industry

On June 8, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) officially inaugurated its International School of Digital Economy and Industry at a ceremony held in the university’s International Lecture Hall. The event was attended by Vice President Yan Gongjun and Wang Hao, director of the Planning and Development Bureau of the Chongqing Free Trade Port Area Administration Committee.

 

Highlighting SISU’s dedication to fostering a dynamic platform for collaboration among government bodies, academic institutions, and enterprise partners, Vice President Yan emphasized in his address that the establishment of the school represents a strategic initiative closely aligned with national priorities and evolving industry demands. He noted that this joint effort aims not only to enhance talent cultivation and bridge the education-industry divide, but also to support Chongqing’s broader vision for high-level international engagement and economic openness.

 

Director Wang Hao affirmed the vital role of the new school in supporting regional talent development and expressed hope for continued trilateral cooperation that empowers industrial upgrading and innovation.

 

Yan Gongjun, Wang Hao, and Lin Chuan, Dean of the College of International Finance and Trade, jointly unveiled the plaque for the new school.

 

The launch of the International School of Digital Economy and Industry marks a significant step forward in SISU’s efforts to advance interdisciplinary education in the context of the “New Liberal Arts,” integrating academic disciplines with industrial applications and talent pipelines, while actively aligning with Chongqing’s socioeconomic development goals.

 

Representatives from iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., Chongqing Jiafa Group, Chongqing UAV Industry Association, Shanghai Golden Education, and Kanchanaburi Rajabhat University (Thailand) also attended the ceremony. Their presence signaled a broad-based commitment to collaborative innovation and talent development in the digital economy, making this event a milestone in SISU’s journey of industry-education integration.
