Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) was honored to receive a special guest on September 28th: Director Christoph auf der Horst of the Language Department from the University of Düsseldorf.

The meeting was convened in the Lide Building's Room A401, where Vice Chancellor Zhu Chaowei, alongside officials from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the College of German Studies, SISU, welcomed the director.

Marking the occasion, Vice Chancellor Zhu Chaowei emphasized the historical and present connections between Chongqing and Düsseldorf, drawing attention to their fruitful collaboration as sister cities.“The past decade has seen remarkable academic and cultural exchanges between SISU and the University of Düsseldorf,” he noted. He expressed optimism for further strengthening this bond and broadening the areas of collaboration.

Director Christoph auf der Horst reciprocated the sentiments, underscoring his commitment to nurturing the partnership between the two institutions. He expressed his hope that both universities might unveil innovative strategies to augment mutual understanding and facilitate cultural interactions between China and Germany. The two parties delved into potential areas of collaboration, spotlighting Goethe studies, German legal research, philosophy, and translation studies.

This visit further underscores SISU's dedication to promoting international academic partnerships and fostering global dialogue.
