Students from the College of Translation and Interpreting, SISU won the first prize with the play the Orphan of Zhao Family at the 2nd National College English Drama Festival held in Guangxi University on December 9 to 10.

Li Liang, the instructor of the Jingkun (Beijing Opera and Qunqu Opera) Opera Club at the college, was honored with the Outstanding Instructor Award, and student Wang Rui from CTI, SISU, won the Best Supporting Actor Award.

This festival fully showcased the great popularity English drama enjoys among college students in China. Their interpretations of classic English dramas or English adaptation of Chinese dramas presented a visual feast for the audience.

The production of 'The Orphan of Zhao Family was a year-long journey from its inception to the final competition. This successful endeavor is a testament to the relentless dedication of instructor Li Liang and the entire ensemble of the Jingkun Opera Club of SISU. Their combined efforts, skills, and passion for drama were instrumental in bringing this captivating play to life, showcasing the talent and commitment of everyone involved.
