Chongqing Rated Chess Tournament and Open Tournament Held in Shapingba

The Chongqing International Chess Tiered Tournament and Open Tournament concluded on March 26, in Shapingba District. The two-day competition adopted the 2020 edition of the International Chess Competition Rules, attracting a record-breaking participation of 920 individuals across 20 different groups.  

In the open group competition, Xin Juncheng, Gu Xianghan, and Yu Xi emerged as the top three in the men's category, while Xia Miaoyan, Zhang Xinlingzhi, and Li Wancong took the top three spots in the women's category. In the level group competition, each player played seven rounds according to the promotion regulations of international chess and competed based on their performance (score rate) during the competition to advance to the list of level 3 to level 10 chess players. Over 600 chess players were promoted to levels 3 to 10 in the tiered competition.
