Passenger Ferry Runs Again Along Ciqikou and Hongyadong, Chongqing

The passenger ferry running between Ciqikou and Hongyadong in Chongqing resumed its operation on April 6, the first time since 2009.

The route starts at Hongyadong, a tourist attraction in Jiefangbei in the downtown area of Chongqing, and ends at Ciqikou, an ancient town in Shapingba District.

Passengers taking the ferry can have a look at 13 bridges and some popular sights of interest such as Chongqing Grand Theatre, Liziba Subway Station, where the subway goes through a talk building standing on a cliff.

It takes about 60 minutes to travel from Hongyadong  to Ciqikou  by ferry. On April 6, 400 tourists took the ferry to enjoy themselves. Some local passengers are thrilled by the resumption of the ferry operation, which was one of their cherished memories before came to an end more than a decade ago.
