2025-09-12

On September 10, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) hosted a recognition ceremony on the afternoon in the International Conference Hall to mark the 41st Teachers’ Day.

All members of the university leadership team attended, with Party Secretary Liu Sifang delivering a remark and President Dong Hongchuan presiding. They were joined by representatives of award-winning faculty, retired faculty, thirty-year service honorees, newly retired and new faculty members, as well as student and staff representatives.

The ceremony honored faculty members who received municipal and national awards in teaching, research, and talent development during the 2024–2025 academic year. Certificates were presented to faculty with thirty years of service, and a retirement ceremony was held to recognize long-serving faculty.

Several faculty representatives delivered remarks. Professor Zhao Yongfeng, a scholar of the National High-Level Talent Program, spoke about his 27-year teaching career and his efforts to advance "English" reform in the liberal arts. Professor Zhou Siyi, winner of the First Prize in the 5th National College Teachers' Innovation Competition, highlighted the challenges and rewards of building cross-disciplinary teams and developing high-quality courses. Counselor Pan Qing, the director of a newly approved Chongqing Master Counselor Workshop, discussed guiding Generation Z college students. Professor Li Daxue, marking three decades of teaching, emphasized that thirty years is “a milestone, not an endpoint.” Professor Yang Xiaolian, representing retirees, reflected on her 38 years of teaching foreign literature.

In his address, Liu Sifang extended holiday greetings to all SISU faculty and staff, expressed respect for retired colleagues, and congratulated the honorees. He called on the university community to continue contributing to national educational development and to carry forward SISU’s tradition of dedication and excellence in teaching and research.
