2023-10-25

On October 13, 2023, SISU successfully hosted the first job fair for the graduating class of 2024 at the west campus stadium.

Themed "Building Dreams in Youth, Charting Careers for the Future", the event was the result of over two months of meticulous planning. The university was delighted to welcome more than 120 prestigious companies, offering the graduating students over 4,000 job opportunities spanning sectors from information technology and new energy to biopharmaceuticals, education, international logistics, and cross-border e-commerce. The positions all highlight expertise in international communication, especially foreign languages and trade.

The job fair drew approximately 1,400 students eager to connect with potential employers. Company representatives took the opportunity to outline their organizations’ roles and current openings at designated booths. Students actively engaged, asking pointed questions and seeking clarity on market trends and specific job requirements. Of note, over 30 companies were so impressed that they immediately scheduled follow-up sessions and interviews for later in the day.

At the job fair, the university Student Affairs and Employment invited career service teachers to offer students comprehensive employment support. At the dedicated resume and career guidance booth, specialized advisers were on hand to provide tailored advice. Many students queued up to hear feedback and suggestions from the advisors.

President Dong Hongchuan and Vice-President Zheng Bailing were also present at the job fair, directly engaging with representatives from various companies. Their conversations focused on the qualities and skillsets these firms are looking for in our graduates and gathered insights on our university's approach to career readiness.
