The delegation, which included Deputy Consul General Ni Tar Myint and Consular Attaché Khaing Mar Lwin, was met by SISU Vice President Zhu Chaowei and other relevant officials from the university's International Cooperation and Exchanges Office and the School of Oriental Languages and Cultures.

Vice President Zhu Chaowei welcomed Consul General Donthelin and his delegation on behalf of the university. He briefly introduced the university's history, academic programs, international exchanges, and talent cultivation. He pointed out that the university's Burmese language program was launched in 2019 and has already admitted two cohorts of students. The program focuses on students' multilingual and interdisciplinary skills development and international exchanges. It has collaborated with the University of Yangon in Myanmar. The program's faculty and students have outstanding capabilities and have provided language support for major foreign exchanges in Chongqing on multiple occasions. They recently completed the "Belt and Road" Science and Technology Exchange Conference. He proposed that the university further expand educational and cultural exchanges with Myanmar universities and welcome more Myanmar teachers to teach at Sichuan International Studies University.

Consul General Donthelin expressed his appreciation for the university's hospitality and felt honored that a university in his jurisdiction was offering Burmese language courses. He praised the achievements of Sichuan International Studies University's Burmese language program, believing that they would promote Sino-Myanmar cultural exchanges into a better future. He was very willing to support the university's exchanges and cooperation with Myanmar universities, and also hoped that the university would accept Myanmar diplomats to study Chinese at the university.

Consul General Donthelin and his delegation later visited the College of Oriental Languages and Cultures and had a friendly exchange with the university's Burmese language students and faculty.
