Organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC), the 2023 “Chinese Bridge” Online Program kicks off at Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) on November 11.

Chinese language learners from Nizhny Novgorod State University of Linguistics, Russian University of Friendship, and Moscow No. 548 Middle School in Russia joined the online program and have officially begun their cultural journey to explore the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Zone.

Xue Hong, the Secretary of the College of Chinese Language and Culture, SISU, warmly welcomed the arrival of 107 winter camp students on behalf of SISU and expressed her sincere gratitude for the support of CLEC. She briefly introduced SISU’s academic disciplines and the history of the international Chinese education discipline, and reviewed the past “Chinese Bridge” online winter camp programs. The online winter camp launched this year aims to allow Russian students to experience the charm of the Chengdu and Chongqing through activities such as learning Chinese and giving Chinese learning classes and cultural lectures.

Deputy Principal Lubov of Moscow 548 Middle School pointed out that this online winter camp program has built a platform for Russian students to understand China, especially the culture of Chengdu and Chongqing, which will help deepen the friendship between the people of China and Russia. Ms. Elizaveta of RUDN University urged the learners to cherish this valuable opportunities to study Chinese and experience local culture, so as to contribute to the friendly exchanges between China and Russia in the future.

On behalf of all the students at the winter camp, Victoria expressed her gratitude to CLEC and SISU for providing opportunities for them to improve Chinese language, understanding China and the Chinese people. She said that the unique terrain, spicy cuisine, and enthusiastic people of Chengdu and Chongqing make her yearn fora trip to the cities.

This online winter camp is the third “Chinese Bridge” delegation online programs undertaken by SISU.
