Delegation from Russian University Visits SISU

On September 28, 2023, Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) welcomed Vice Chancellor Baykov and his delegation from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Russia. The visit provided a platform for dialogues regarding potential academic collaborations and exchanges.

Zou Yu, Secretary of the SISU CPC Committee, and President Dong Hongchuan received the visitors and engaged in discussions.

In an in-depth discussion, Vice President Yan Gongjun shared with the guests an overview of SISU, touching upon aspects of its history, talent development, international cooperation, and think tank developments. Professor Yan expressed his hope that the visit could pave the way for further cooperation and academic exchanges between the two universities.

Vice Chancellor Baykov shared insights into MGIMO's academic infrastructure, talent nurturing, and educational dynamics, suggesting potential areas of interest and cooperation between the two universities.

The two parties also discussed practices of teaching in subjects like translation, country studies, Model United Nations, and collaborative Sino-Russian teaching initiatives.

MGIMO, established in 1944 and operating under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, serves as an institution shaping future professionals in international relations and a think tank focused on international studies.
