In a display of athletic spirit and unity, the torch for the 4th Asian Para Games was carried through Jiande City in Hangzhou on the afternoon of the 19th. Spanning approximately 7.6 kilometers, the relay saw the participation of 128 torchbearers in a seamless procession. Highlighting the event, Paralympic champion Liao Keli from Chongqing proudly took on the role of the final torchbearer, symbolizing the culmination of this significant leg of the relay

Liao Keli is a distinguished representative in the world of Chinese Paralympic sports. Currently, he is the captain of the Chinese National Paralympic Table Tennis Men's Team. He has achieved significant success, including winning the table tennis championship at the Tokyo Paralympics, and clinching both the singles and team titles at the Guangzhou and Incheon Asian Para Games. Liao is also a recipient of the 'National May Day Labor Medal' in recognition of his outstanding contributions.

After the torch relay, Liao Keli said with excitement: "I feel that my life is more complete now. It's like a reward and encouragement for my more than 20 years of hard work in competitive sports.”

This was his first experience as a torchbearer in a major international sports event.

"I am incredibly honored to carry the torch and pass on the spirit of the Asian Para Games. This holds extraordinary personal significance for me”, he said.
