On the afternoon of September 7, 2018, accompanied by Luo Yaowei, staff of
Office of International Affairs of SISU, seven foreign teachers participated in a Chinese calligraphy salon for foreign experts jointly organized by the Chongqing Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs and the Chongqing Foreign Investment Promotion Center at the Contemporary Chinese Art Museum.
The participants first had a tour of the art gallery. Then a Chinese calligrapher was invited to teach the foreigners on the spot. The students picked up the brush and tried to write Chinese characters. For some this was their first attempt.The strokes of the characters are complicated and difficult to write, but all the participants were enthusiastic in their practice and had a lively discussion on their works. The event ended with the organizer presenting the participants a small give and a group photo .
