Vice President Zhu Chaowei Lectured at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada

Zhu Chaowei, vice president of SISU, gave a lecture to audiences from the Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada, in the lecture hall of the Business School of the University , at 7:00 p.m. June 8, 2017. The lecture , moderated by Ben Young, the director of the International Department of Wilfrid Laurier University, was titled “How to Better Understand the Chinese Students Studying in Canada: from the Perspective of Chinese University Presidents”. Professor Bruce, associate dean of the Faculty of Science, Peter Donahue, vice director of the International Department, administrative staff for Chinese students of faculties , and members of a Chinese delegation who went to Canada on a program called Overseas Study Tour of Thousands of Presidents of Universities in Central and Western China attended the lecture.

 

At the invitation of Wilfrid Laurier University, vice president Zhu Chaowei gave this lecture during his trip to Canada on a program named Thousands of Presidents of Universities in Central and Western China Observing Canadian Education.  Zhu informed his canadian audiences of Chinas iniative in internationalizing its higher education and explored Chinese students motives to  pursue a tertiary education in Canada.  Zhu first compared the differences between Chinise and Canadian higher education system, and then he discussed the major problems confronting Chinese students studying abroad. The lecture was warmly received and the audience asked many questions. Zhu and other members of the program answered with expertise.
