On the evening of January 12th, 2017, the award ceremony of 2016 PEPERONCINO D’ORO, literally meaning “Golden Pepper Award”, issued by Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing took place at Chongqing InterContinental Hotel. Having grasped the award for two consecutive years in 2014 and 2015, SISU stood onto the winner’s rostrum for the third time. In the ceremony, President Li Keyong, on behalf of SISU, accepted this award presented by Sergio Maffetton, the consul general from Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing.
As one of the universities contributing to promote Sino-Italian exchange in education and technology, SISU won the award for offering Italian courses, promoting Italian learning, strengthening cooperation with universities and research institutes in Italy and giving every support to the 2016 World Italian Week.
In the award ceremony, the Consulate General presented awards to the winners of the national photography contest titled “My Italy”, organized by the Italian embassies and consulates to China. Yuan Ruiwen, a senior who majors in Italian in SISU, won the second prize with her work dubbed the Iron Flag in Palermo.
