The Confucius Institute at the University of West Florida held its 4th council meeting in the Meeting Room 505, library, on June 13. Dr. George Ellenberg, vice-president and director of dean’s office of West Florida University, Dr. Kim. M. LeDuff, director of Multiculture Department, Dr. Kuiyuan Li and Li Dongqing, deans of the Confucius Institute, Li Keyong, president of SISU, Li Xiaochuan, vice-president of SISU, Zhang Youbin, deputy director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange and other staff from the department attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Li Keyong and Ellenberg made remarks respectively, praising the achievements both sides have made in the cooperation projects in recent years, and extending good wishes to deepen the cooperation. On behalf of the president of West Florida University, Ellenberg handed over the renewed agreement on student exchange, which stipulates that from 2017 onwards, the University of West Florida will provide eight scholarships every year for exchange students of SISU.
Dr. KuiyuanLi reported on the deans’ work to the meeting, after which he and Li Dongqing were appointed dean of the Confucius Institute of West Florida University for the second term.
